Series Profile

The O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series sanctions and promotes winged outlaw style sprint car racing at major venues in the United States on Asphalt and Dirt ovals. The O'Reilly USCS contested 41 events in 8 states on 30 different Speedways in 2006. One hundred and eighty (180) different drivers from 20 states and two foreign countries competed in the series during 2006. The typical event had drivers from 7 - 9 states competing in the events. The 11th Anniversary 2007 O'Reilly USCS season schedule has the series staging 50+ events (15 on Asphalt and 36+ on Dirt ) at 30 different venues in 10 states. This will take the series to over 30 major and intermediate size media markets with repeats in some. Several major National events are on the schedule including the second annual O'Reilly USCS " SpeedWeek", North-South Shootout, the Hardee's Dixie Outlaw Nationals and the Lucas Oil Super Power Dash.

The Cars

The cars competing in O'Reilly USCS events are almost identical in appearance to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series seen on national television broadcasts aired frequently by The Outdoor Channel. The O'Reilly USCS is covered frequently on Speed TV. A typical O'Reilly USCS sprint car weighs approximately 1300 pounds and their fuel injected 360 cubic inch engines produce 700 horsepower. The cars utilize huge 25 square foot wings on top and 6 square foot nose wings for traction and stability along with providing excellent advertising space on their 2 1/2 foot x 6 foot side boards. The cars also use massive 18 inch wide rear tires for traction.

The Excitement

The mix of lightweight cars, 700 horsepower motors, huge wings, and massive tires, make these exotic vehicles the fastest race cars to ever visit the ovals the series competes on. O'Reilly USCS drivers hold time trial track records at almost every speedway the series has qualified at since the series inception in 1997. The cars typically turn 3/8 mile dirt ovals in less than 14 seconds and 3/8 mile asphalt ovals under 12 seconds (or about a 130 m.p.h. average) and produce one electrifying spectacle!
