USCSlogo2013.jpgApril 14, 2016 - Atlanta, GA – The United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" Tour presented by K&N Filterswww.uscsracing.com winged sprint cars are set to invade two East Tennessee dirt ovals on Friday and Saturday, April 22nd and 23rd. The events are scheduled to be race numbers seven and eight of the series’ 20th anniversary season. The USCS drivers will compete for a chance to be the first one to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane at a new venue for the series on Friday night at the one-third mile oval at I-75 Raceway in Niota (Sweetwater), Tennessee. On the following night they make their fifth annual stop at the four-tenths mile Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. $5000 is on the line for a driver who can sweep both nights action. This is the one and only visit scheduled during the 2016 season for the USCS presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars to each of the speedways. Each race will award USCS National points as well as points in the USCS Mid South Thunder and USCS Southern Thunder regional series title chases. The USCS Mid South Thunder regional series consists of races scheduled in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The Southern Thunder regional series races in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Carolinas.

On Friday, April 22nd the series makes its first stop of the weekend for ”Freakin’ Fast Friday” at I-75 Raceway. The USCS headline division (winged sprint cars) will be joined by the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints. Also on the racing card are the speedway’s Limited Late Model, Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder, Four Cylinder and Front Wheel Drive divisions with a complete racing card of their own. 

On Saturday night, April 23rd the two USCS sprint car divisions invade Smoky Mountain Speedway for “Race Rockin’ the Smokies” presented by WIMZ Classic Rock 103.5. The high-speed action-packed racing card also includes the Southern All Star Late Models for an event the pays $5000 to win the Dirt Late Model portion of the event. 

This two night event is expected to bring top winged outlaw type sprint car drivers from at least eight states to the tracks. The exotic fire breathing, alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars weight just 1,300 pounds, Winged sprint cars are pound for pound the World’s most powerful short track race cars. 

Each night's USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters sprint car action will feature a full program of racing that kicks off with test and tune hot laps. The hot laps will be followed by the Hoosier Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout. The qualifying heat races are next on the racing card. The evening’s grand finale will be the USCS presented by K&N Filters A-main event. The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints wil compete in an almost identical format as the sprint cars.
