Mallett is USCS King of Mississippi at Whynot PDF Print E-mail

Meridian, MS – July 8, 2017 - 2017 USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters National title contender Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR battled 2013 USCS National Champion, Derek Hagar for the entire 30-lap distance at Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday night before parking his #14 sprint car in the USCS Victory Lane as the 2017 USCS King of Mississippi sprint car Champion/ Hagar dogged the K&N Pole Position starter from the outside front row starting position into turn one and battled Mallett all the way to the checkered flag while throwing every move in his book at the other Arkansan but had to settle for the runner-up spot. Marshall Skinner also from Marion, AR made it an all Arkansas podium by coming across in the K&N Filters Pole Award third place. 

Two Morgan’s rounded out the top five with defending and two-time USCS National Champion, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, TN in fourth place and Shane Morgan from Biloxi, MS in fifth place. Young gun Kyle Amerson from Mathews, AL was sixth, just ahead of eleven-time series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, TN in seventh. Veteran sprint car racer, Timmy Thrash from Biloxi, MS was eighth followed by Tristan Lee also from the same hometown and Shawn Murray from Jacksonville, FL finished  tenth in the twenty-two car field.


Marshall Skinner won the USCS Hoosier Tire Speed Dash for the top six finishers from the previous night’s event. Lee Moore from Tuscaloosa, Al won the Tom’s DASH for CASH. Marshall Skinner won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Derek Hagar was the winner of the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat and Shane Morgan reached the checkers ahead of the pack in the Butlerbuilt Third Heat Race. Chase Howard garnered the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars in the main event.
