USCSBarger5.17.2019.jpg

Loxley, AL – Friday, May 17, 2019 – Justin Barger from Cornelius, North Carolina raced from his outside front row starting position into the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane in the 25-lap USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint car main event during the USCS Fast Friday event at Deep South Speedway on Friday night. It was Barger’s first USCS win of the 2019 season. He won the USCS season finale at Bubba Raceway Park last November. It was also the first-ever stop for the United Sprint Car Series at the Loxley, Alabama speed plant.

Versatile dirt and pavement hot-shoe, Joey Schmidt from Ellisville, Mississippi chased Barger across the finish line after a late race caution put him on the New York transplants back bumper for a final dash to the finish. Mark Ruel, Jr. who started from the K&N Filters Pole Position, followed Schmidt in the K&N Filters Podium award third place. USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional points leader, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina was fourth at the end after starting seventh and the 2015 USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour Rookie of the Year, Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida rounded out the top five drivers.

Pendergrass, Georgia’s Jeff Oliver led the next group in sixth place followed by 11-time USCS National Champion and current National points leader, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee in seventh place. Jeff Willingham from Ripley, Mississippi, who was the 2012 USCS Rookie of the Year, finished in eighth followed by Tony Agin from Fort Myers, Florida in ninth place. Brandon Blendon from Biloxi, Mississippi completed the top ten finishers.

Nick Snyder kicked of the evening’s sprint car action by winning the USCS Hoosier Tire Speed Dash. Terry Gray then won the Engler Machine and Tool First qualifying heat race. Tony Agin caped off the qualifying rounds by winning the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat. Johnny Bridges advanced the most positions in the man event to garner the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award.

The United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters moves over to Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida for Saturday night’s weekend finale as headliners of the Armed Forces night at the 1/3 mile Gulf Coast Oval.
