Rislone USCS Modified WEEKLY Racing Series announced at 5 tracks PDF Print E-mail

NEW! USCS WEEKLY RACING SERIES  RisloneUSCSlogo.jpgAtlanta, GA - February 21, 2009 - The United Speed Contest Sanction (USCS) has announced a new dimension to its’ open wheel modified racing program. The USCS will sanction weekly racing for the Rislone USCS Modified style cars and competitors at a number of tracks during the 2009 season. The USCS Weekly Racing Series will allow a driver to stay home and compete for the Weekly Racing Series Championship. It also allows drivers to compete with virtually hundreds of drivers over the season without leaving their home-track.

“We at the USCS have enjoyed having the competitors in the Rislone USCS Modified Series as part of our growing racing family the last three seasons” stated USCS Founder and President, Pete Walton. We decided to create the USCS Weekly Racing Series over the winter as a way to do more to promote this division. This will give the drivers and teams that aren’t able to travel our whole Rislone USCS Modified Touring Series schedule more recognition and create a prestigious Championship for them to compete for. We hope that in working with the participating tracks we can accomplish this and put some additional excitement and positive energy into Modified racing in general.

Five tracks have united to make the USCS Weekly Racing Series possible for the open wheel modified division possible. Tracks already committed where drivers can collect weekly series Championship points are Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas, Magnolia Motor Speedway also located in Columbus, Mississippi, Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri and Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. Negotiations with several more tracks are continuing and several more are expected to be announced soon.

At least the top twenty drivers in the 2009 USCS Weekly Racing Series final standings will be rewarded at season’s end with a Championship Banquet, Trophies and Championship Jackets. Based on just six tracks participating, the cash points fund will award the Champion with at least $3,000.00 plus merchandise and will pay back twenty positions.

Drivers will earn points at participating tracks during weekly racing events that pay no more than $1000 to win for the event. At season’s end, the drivers’ best sixteen (16) event finishes will count toward the Championship point standings. Drivers may earn points at more than one track and participate in as many Weekly Racing Series events as they wish.

The USCS Weekly Racing Series will award drivers in the popular open wheel modified division with the opportunity for additional recognition via the increased media coverage for them. The results for the Weekly Racing Series will be included on a new USCS website,
www.openwheelmodifieds.com that is dedicated to recognizing drivers and teams competing in the Rislone USCS Modified Touring Series and Weekly Racing Series

To participate in the USCS Weekly Racing Series program drivers do not have to pay to join the organization for the 2009 season. They only need to show up and race regularly at participating tracks. The participating tracks are bearing the cost of the program for the drivers in this division. EVERY OPEN WHEEL MODIFIED DRIVER IS ELIGIBLE.

The first two tracks to host weekly racing series events will be Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday, March 7th and Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas on the same night.
