Gray charges to USCS feature win at I-77 Speedway

USCSGray7.24.10.jpgChester, SC - July 24, 2010 – Defending United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee charged from his seventh place starting position into victory lane in the series 30-lap main event at I-77 Speedway on Saturday night. Gray who earlier in the evening had won the Goodyear Speed Dash drove his own familiar black Rislone Oil Stabilizer sponsored Wesmar powered, J&J Auto Racing #10 winged sprint car to victory lane.

He finished about one quarter-lap ahead of early race-leader, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina who finished in the runner-up spot. Past Carolina regional series Champion, Coby Adams from Mooresville, North Carolina had his best finish of the season in third place.

Hagar gets first 2010 USCS feature win at Dixie
USCSHagar7.17.10.jpgWoodstock, GA - July 17, 2010 - The 2006 United Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year, Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas charged past Cherryville, North Carolina hot-shoe Johnny Bridges, on lap five of the thirty-lap USCS presented by Goodyear Dixie Sprint Car Nationals at Dixie Speedway on Saturday night. Hagar was driving the Jay Hancock owned Athens, Georgia based #1A sprint car. It was Hagar’s first time in the car and he collected $2000 for his efforts. It was Hagar’s fourth career USCS feature win.

Bridges collects double Asphalt Thunder at Lonesome Pine
USCSBridgesvlane7.10.10.jpgCoeburn, VA – July 10, 2010 – Johnny “The Wild Child” Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina captured wins in both of the United Sprint Car Series Asphalt Thunder Tour feature races in the Morgan McClure Chevrolet Speed Spectacular at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night. Bridges collected $2200 including bonuses for his clean sweep of the time trial qualifying, USCS Power Dash and victories in both 20-lap main events at the 4/10 mile paved Southwest Virginia oval. Bridges was driving the Sue Ellen Wilshe owned Biobased USA sponsored, Roush Yates powered J&J Auto Racing #07s winged sprint car.

Newman claims USCS Modified Speedweek 2010 title

Thus allowing Newman to garnered his first USCS Modified Speedweek title. He was driving the Steve Tucker owned Parts Plus sponsored #73 open wheel modified. Newman collected $5000 in winnings and bonuses for the weekend while competing Topless in each event.

Newman three for four in USCS MOD Speedweek Finale win at Camden
USCSOWMNewman7.4.10.jpgCamden, TN – July 4, 2010 – 2008 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee bested the USCS Modified Touring Series K&N Filters Speedweek 2010 Round #4 Camden Speedway on Sunday night. Newman started fifth in the 25-lap main event and charged into the runner-up position by lap two. He then chased 2006 USCS modified Champion, T.J. Herndon from Atwood, Tennessee for the next ten circuits around the fast 4/10 mile speed-plant before grabbing the lead from Herndon on lap twelve. Herndon battled with Newman to re-gain the point for the next five laps before he was passed by Mike Bowers from North Little Rock, Arkansas on lap-seventeen.

Crawley wins USCS Hooker Hood Sprint Car Shootout at Riverside
USCSCrawleyHookerWard7.1.10.jpgThursday, July 1, 2010 - West Memphis, AR - 2008 United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear, Mid South Thunder Tour Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas drove the #99 “Tennessee Tornado” Hooker Hood tribute car to victory lane in the 30-lap Hooker Hood Sprint Car Shootout. The race honored the Memphis racing legend and Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Clarence “Hooker” Hood. Hood joined Crawley in victory lane along beside the car owned by Dennis and Jeri Benjamin from Millington, Tennessee and the Ward Racing crew for the victory celebration. In a gesture from one great racer to another, Crawley awarded Hood the winner’s trophy to further honor him on his night.

USCS Asphalt Thunder at Watermelon Capital on June 26th cancelled
CANCELLED - Atlanta, GA - Due to personal reasons and circumstances beyond our control. The USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour event scheduled for this weekend on Saturday, June 26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway has been cancelled”, stated USCS President, Pete Walton. “This in no way effects the later date at Watermelon Capital” said Walton.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause anyone. We are presently negotiating several additional dates that will be added to the Asphalt Thunder schedule in the very near future” concluded the series Founder.

Sport Allen captures USCS sprint car win at Fayetteville Motor Speedway
USCSAllen6.19.10.jpgFayetteville, NC - June 19, 2010 - Sprint car veteran Sport Allen from Seffner, Florida charged past mid-race leader, Tim Perry from China Grove, North Carolina on lap twenty-two of the thirty-lap United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Southern Thunder Biobased USA www.biobased.us main event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Allen then led the final eight laps to victory lane in Hardy Maddox’s #82 sprint car. With the additional prize money added by Don Wilshe’s Biobased USA (farm products) company, Allen collected $2250 for his winning efforts.
