Chester, SC - July 24, 2010 – Defending United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee charged from his seventh place starting position into victory lane in the series 30-lap main event at I-77 Speedway on Saturday night. Gray who earlier in the evening had won the Goodyear Speed Dash drove his own familiar black Rislone Oil Stabilizer sponsored Wesmar powered, J&J Auto Racing #10 winged sprint car to victory lane.
Woodstock, GA - July 17, 2010 - The 2006 United Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year, Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas charged past Cherryville, North Carolina hot-shoe Johnny Bridges, on lap five of the thirty-lap USCS presented by Goodyear Dixie Sprint Car Nationals at Dixie Speedway on Saturday night. Hagar was driving the Jay Hancock owned Athens, Georgia based #1A sprint car. It was Hagar’s first time in the car and he collected $2000 for his efforts. It was Hagar’s fourth career USCS feature win.
Coeburn, VA – July 10, 2010 – Johnny “The Wild Child” Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina captured wins in both of the United Sprint Car Series Asphalt Thunder Tour feature races in the Morgan McClure Chevrolet Speed Spectacular at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night. Bridges collected $2200 including bonuses for his clean sweep of the time trial qualifying, USCS Power Dash and victories in both 20-lap main events at the 4/10 mile paved Southwest Virginia oval. Bridges was driving the Sue Ellen Wilshe owned Biobased USA sponsored, Roush Yates powered J&J Auto Racing #07s winged sprint car.
Atlanta, GA – July 8, 2010 - The 2008 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee used three first place finishes and one second place finish to dominate the 3rd Annual USCS Modified Touring Series Speedweek (2010) points standing. Thus allowing Newman to garnered his first USCS Modified Speedweek title. He was driving the Steve Tucker owned Parts Plus sponsored #73 open wheel modified. Newman collected $5000 in winnings and bonuses for the weekend while competing Topless in each event.
Camden, TN – July 4, 2010 – 2008 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee bested the USCS Modified Touring Series K&N Filters Speedweek 2010 Round #4 Camden Speedway on Sunday night. Newman started fifth in the 25-lap main event and charged into the runner-up position by lap two. He then chased 2006 USCS modified Champion, T.J. Herndon from Atwood, Tennessee for the next ten circuits around the fast 4/10 mile speed-plant before grabbing the lead from Herndon on lap twelve. Herndon battled with Newman to re-gain the point for the next five laps before he was passed by Mike Bowers from North Little Rock, Arkansas on lap-seventeen.
Camden, TN – July 4, 2010 – Past United Sprint Car Series Champion, Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas, charged to his fourth United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear main event win of the year at Camden Motor Speedway on Sunday night during the winged sprint car portion of the 5th Annual “Firecracker 100”. In the process, Skinner halted Tim Crawley’s dominating win streak while driving the “Tennessee Tornado” Hooker Hood tribute car at three-in-a-row.
Summertown, TN - July 3, 2010 – Past USCS Mid South Thunder Tour presented by Goodyear Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas, charged to his third United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear main event win of the weekend at Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday night during the winged sprint car portion of the Holiday weekend racing card. Crawley’s win was accomplished while driving the #99 Hooker Hood tribute car belonging to Dennis and Jeri Benjamin and crewed by his familiar Ward Racing crew.
Malden, MO – July 2, 2010 – 2008 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee bested the USCS Modified Touring Series K&N Filters Speedweek 2010 Round #2 portion of the Fireworks 150 at Malden Speedway on Friday night. Newman started outside the front row in the main event next to Josh Hughes from West Plains, Missouri. Newman jumped into the lead every lap of the 25-lap contest in Steve Tucker’s Parts Plus sponsored number 73. It was Newman’s second win in as many nights in USCS competition.
Malden, MO - July 2, 2010 – Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas streaked to victory lane in the non-stop/caution free United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by Goodyear 30-lap portion of Malden Speedway’s “Fireworks 150” on Friday night. Crawley started fourth in the field and piloted the black and gold #99 “Tennessee Tornado” Hooker Hood tribute car to the front of the pack on lap five after battling with K&N Filters Pole Position starter Ronny Howard and 2009 USCS Rookie of the Year Justin Carver from Drummonds, Tennessee for the first four laps. Carver was logged as the race-leader on laps one through four.
West Memphis, AR – July 1, 2010 – 2008 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee bested the USCS Modified Touring Series K&N Filters Speedweek 2010 Round #1 portion of the Hooker Hood Shootout at Riverside International Speedway on Thursday night. Newman started outside the front row in the main event next to Brad Buck from Paragould, Arkansas. Buck led lap one around the famed ¼ mile gumbo clay poval before Newman went past him to grab the lead on lap two for good in Steve Tucker’s Parts Plus sponsored number 73.
Thursday, July 1, 2010 - West Memphis, AR - 2008 United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear, Mid South Thunder Tour Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas drove the #99 “Tennessee Tornado” Hooker Hood tribute car to victory lane in the 30-lap Hooker Hood Sprint Car Shootout. The race honored the Memphis racing legend and Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Clarence “Hooker” Hood. Hood joined Crawley in victory lane along beside the car owned by Dennis and Jeri Benjamin from Millington, Tennessee and the Ward Racing crew for the victory celebration. In a gesture from one great racer to another, Crawley awarded Hood the winner’s trophy to further honor him on his night.
Fayetteville, NC - June 19, 2010 - Sprint car veteran Sport Allen from Seffner, Florida charged past mid-race leader, Tim Perry from China Grove, North Carolina on lap twenty-two of the thirty-lap United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Southern Thunder Biobased USA
