USCS Talladega event on November 18th is cancelled!

Atlanta, GA - November 16, 2017 - Cancelled...The USCS "Shootout at the Short Track" scheduled for this coming Saturday, November 18th at Talladega Short Track ( has been cancelled due to the forecast of incoming rain. With rain chances in the 70-90% range from all weather services predicted for Saturday afternoon and evening, "We feel like the best decision is to save everyone the time and added expense of traveling into the area and have just decided to head off the situation. We have watched ther weather forecast for a week and it has stayed the same with increasing rain chances". stated track owner Lynn Phillips and USCS ( Founder and President Pete Walton.

At this late date, and having already rescheduled the event twice from its original race date of October 7th it will not be re-scheduled at Talladega Short Track for this same event in 2017. This was to be the season finale for USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour and presented by K&N Filters, the USCS Mini Sprints and for Talladega Short Track. Two USCS dates have already been confirmed at Talladwga short Track in 2018. As a side note The United Sprint Car Series held it first-ever event at Talladega Short Track on April 25, 1997 won by eleven-time series Champion Terry Gray.

Atlanta, GA – October 12, 2017 - The USCS “Flip Flop 50” Mo’ Better…The USCS “RED, WHITE and BLUE 75” at historic Riverside Int. Speedway in West Memphis, AR on Friday and Saturday, October 20th and 21st will feature THREE 25-LAP United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters A-MAIN EVENTS with over $8000 possible for a driver who can win it all.on 

On Friday 10/20 the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint car drivers will contest a full racing program including the Hoosier Speed Dash, Qualifying Heat Races and Main events. The Friday night A-Main event pay $2000 to the driver who reaches the USCS Victory Lane as the winner of the weekend’s first 25-lap A-Main.

Atlanta, GA – Friday, October 6, 2017  - Due to forecasts for a certainty of severe weather on Saturday night, October 7th,  The USCS Shootout at the Short Track Speed Spectacular event featuring the 120 mile per hour USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars plus Late Modes and Stock Car Racing has been CANCELLED for Saturday, October 7th and RESCHEDULED for Saturday, October 28th, The USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars and the USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints plus all of the Talladega Short Track divisions on the October 7th racing card will be re-scheduled on October 28th. Any further details will be released with an announcement to come next week.

WOODSTOCK, GA – September 9, 2017- Eric Riggins Jr. of Charlotte, NC won the 30-lap United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour Presented By K&N Filters main event on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway.  The Carolina Kid led wire-to-wire from his outside front row starting spot to park his Apha Canvas #47 in the USCS Victory Lane.Itwas Riggins’ second USCS career win at Dixie Speedway in a caution-free race.

Turpen runs 2017 win total to eight at Blue Ridge Motorsports

Blue Ridge, Georgia - June 10, 2017 - The defending and two-time USCS National Champion, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee scored her second United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters win of the weekend and eighth of the 2017 season on Saturday night at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park in front of another standing room only crowd for the series. Turpen made a mid-race pass on early leader and heat race winner, Dale Howard from Byhalia, Mississippi after a hard-fought battle for the lead and then pulled away to approximately 10-car length lead on the final lap. Turpen also won on the series’ previous night’s stop at Fort Payne Motor Speedway.

Fyffe, Alabama - June 9, 2017 - Two-time USCS National Champion, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee battled to her seventh United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters win of the of the 2017 season on Friday night at Fort Payne Motor Speedway in front of a standing room only crowd. Turpen held off current USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National points leader Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas for the win. Mallett made a mid-race pass for the lead that was negated by a caution situation for another racer’s loop on the same lap to bring out the yellow and re-align Turpen in the front of the pack. Turpen, the 2017 USCS wins leader, then held off a rim riding Jordon Mallett the rest of the way to win the 30-lap contest and park in the USCS Victory Lane.

Defending USCS National Champion Morgan Turpen won her 7th USCS Feature race of the 2017 season at Fort Payne Motor Speedway Friday night. Jordon Mallett ran a close 2nd. 3rd was Terry Gray. 4th went to Dale Howard and Lee Moore rounded out the top 5.


2014 USCS Rookie of the Year, Brandon McLain led the next flight in 6th place followed by Joey Schmidt in 7th place. Joe Larkin collected 8th place money. USCS veterans Jeff Willingham 9th and Brian Thomas completed the top ten.

Morgan Turpen and Lee Moore were the heat race winners.

Brandon McLain won the USCS Hoosier Tire Speed Dash.
