Matt Carr garners career first USCS 600 win at Fayetteville Motor Speedway

AYETTEVILLE, N.C - July 25, 2015 - Matt Carr from Gray’s Creek, North Carolina charged from third starting position to take the lead on the opening lap of Friday night’s www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series A-main and never looked back, pacing all 15 circuits to score his first career USCS-sanctioned mini sprint victory at his home race track.

“Boy, it feels great to be in victory lane at Fayetteville Motor Speedway,” Carr said in www.rockauto.com Victory Lane. “This is our home track and it’s the first time we’ve ever run the 600 here. To have been fighting the handling on the car all night and still be able to pull it off is a really special feeling.”

Bridges races to win in USCS Sprints @ East Lincoln
USCSBridges7.24.15Chris.jpgSTANLEY, N.C. - July 24, 2015 - The ‘Wild Child’ made his return to the top of the United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters field after 15 long months on Friday night at East Lincoln Motor Speedway. 1998 series Rookie of the Year Johnny Bridges, from Cherryville, N.C. inherited the lead under a lap five caution during the 30-lap “Friday Fever” A-main, after early race leader C.J. Miller headed to the work area with front suspension problems.

Bridges then held off rookie points leader Nick Snyder, and ultimately, 11-time series champion Terry Gray over a series of restarts in the second half of the event to pick up his first win of the season and his 15th career USCS victory in the series’ inaugural visit to the tight North Carolina bullring. The trip to www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane was Bridges’ first since April 25, 2014 at Anderson (S.C.) Motor Speedway and made for an emotional victory lane celebration.

The win was Skinner’s second of the 2015 season and his 27th career USCS victory, putting him one win away from tying 1998 series champion Eddie Gallagher for fifth on the all-time series win list.

RINGGOLD, Ga. – Jjuly 17, 2015 - 5-year-old Brandon Taylor took the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series to school on Friday night at Boyd’s Speedway, charging late to score his second victory of the 2015 season in thrilling fashion. Not even a six-spot inversion could stop the Cumming, Ga. young gun, who charged past fellow Peach State native Bob Trapino on lap 12 of the 20-lap main event and then held a third Georgian, Mike Magic, off on a restart with four laps to go to notch his third career USCS winged mini sprint victory and first at the three-eighths mile clay oval.

The win was Taylor’s first trip back to www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane since the series’ season-opening weekend at Tennessee National Raceway on March 21

In doing so, the Marion, Arkansas hot-shoe rolled into the www.rockauto.com USCS Victpry Lane for the 33rd time on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway after the 25-lap distance at the fastest track in Arkansas and the Mid South area.

The win wasn’t an easy one, as Hagar, who started fourth in the field, chased USCS presented by K&N National point’s leader Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee for the first ten laps before racing by her to lead the rest of the distance. Turpen created a caution on lap sixteen when her #10m stopped on the racing surface with a mechanical failure rtghat she said showed up early in the race.

Hagar battles to 3rd 2015 USCS by K&N Filters win at Crowley’s Ridge
USCSHagar7.9.15.jpgPARAGOULD, AR. – July 9, 2015 - Thursday night’s rescheduled USCS ‘Rumble at the Ridge’ ended up being a clean sweep for 2013 United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters champion Derek Hagar. Hagar, from nearby Marion, Ark., took the lead of the 30-lap feature event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway away from Millersville, Missouri hot shoe Joe B. Miller on a lap 14 restart and led the rest of the distance to notch his third United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters win of the 2015 season and claim his second Glen Francis Memorial Cup trophy in the process. The win was Hagar’s 32nd career USCS victory, and his second in three years at the track (2013 and 2015), after the 24-year-old also won the Hoosier Speed Dash and the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat earlier in the night.
