Stewart, Franek M. Smith top us standings after Southern events

For immediate release: Stewart, Franek and Mark Smith top USCS National and Deep South regional sprint point standings as of Feb. 23rd

 

Atlanta, GA – February 27, 2019 – After five 2019 events including a win for himself, Tony Stewart from Columbus, Indiana still leads the United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters point standings in the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National and USCS Deep South regional series divisions. Stewart, who was the February 22nd winner at Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida last Friday, February 22nd and the runner-up in the 30-lap A-Main at Southern Raceway on Saturday, February 23rd maintains a scant 11 point lead over Sussex, New Jersey driver Davie Franek who was a winner earlier in the season at Bubba Raceway Park on Friday, February 8th.Franek is followed in the standing by two-time 2019 USCS sprint car feature winner Mark Smith from Sunbury, Pennsylvania, who moved up a notch into third place after a strong weekend at Southern Raceway with a runner-up finish behind Stewart on Friday night. He then held off Stewart in Saturday night’s main event for his second win of the season in the series. He was the February 9th winner at Bubba Raceway Park.

Atlanta, GA – February 28, 2019 – Chatham Speedway will host one of its most exciting and certainly most high-speed events of their 2019 racing season when, the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars invade the one-third mile clay oval in Chatham, Louisiana. The USCS winged sprint cars headline a two-night weekend of racing action entitled the USCS “Bayou State Sprint Car Nationals” at the track on Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th for Rounds #7 and #8 of the 2nd annual USCS “Winter Heat” mini-series. The events which be the first-ever for the United Sprint Car Series in the state of Louisiana, will also be the 7th and 8th events on the 64-event 23rd season schedule for the Atlanta, Georgia based racing series.

Mark Smith grabs 2nd Win in 2019 at Southern Raceway 2-23-19

Milton, Florida - February 23, 2019 - Mark Smith from Sunbury, Pennsylvania won the USCS "Battle at the Beach"  weekend Filnale that doubled as the Round # 5 of the USCS Winter Heat Series presented by FireAde 30-lap USCS Outlaw Thunderr Tour presented by K&N Filters main event for winged sprint cars. Smith had to hold off the previous night's main-event winner and series points leader, Tony Stewart from Columbus, Indiana for his 2nd trip to the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane of the 2019 season. Stewart finished in the runner-up spot to keep his series points lead over Sussex, New Jersey's Davie Franek who followed Stewart t the line in the K&N Fiters Podium Award third spot.

 

Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina had his best finish so far in 2019 with a fourth place finish. Veteran sprint car racer Jim Shuster  from Newville, Pennsylvania who also won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat earlier, had his season best main-event finish by rounding out the top five drivers.

Ocala, FL – February 8, 2019 – Sussex, New Jersey sprint car star “No Panic “Davie Franek raced to a career-first United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters in the USCS Winter Heat Series Round #3 25-lap main event at Bubba Raceway Park on Friday night. Franek had to best an international field of 44 drivers from 14 United States, Canada and England for his first victory of the 2019 season. Clewiston, Florida - January 25, 2019 - 2015 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee and legendary veteran Midwest sprint car driver Danny Smith from Chillicothe, Ohio won the USCS 2019 season opening USCS Winter Heat Series Round #1 25-lap main event at Hendry County Motorsports Park on Friday night. Smith who put another win on his resume also made it 45 racing seasons in a row that he has won at least one sprint car main event. That historic accomplishment by itself may be the record for winning seasons.
 
It wasn't an easy trip to the www.Rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane as Smith hasd to hold off Sussex, New Jersey hot-shoe, "No Panic"Davie Franek the entire distance for the win. On about lap-four to make the accomplishmet more memorable the left front torsion bar arm on Smith's mount broke and the front wing fell down. He struggled to keep Franek at bayinevery corner. In Victory Lane Smith said" Sometimes when t's your night, no matter how hard you try, you can't screw it up".

Atlanta, GA – December 4, 2018 - The 2018 season USCS Champion’s Awards Banquet and Lucheon is set for Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the historic V.F.W. Post 105 log cabin in Fayetteville, Georgia on Saturday, January 19, 2019. The banquet starts at 12pm (Noon).

The 2018 celebration will honor 2018 and two-time United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters National Champion Jrdon mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas and the top ten drivers in each USCS regional sprint car series.
