Sprint Car Top Wing/Wicker Bill Rule Change

Atlanta, GA - January 30, 2018 - After 21 years with the same wing rule, the United Sprint Car Serie presented by K&N Filters has made a minor change to the TOP WING Wicker Bill rule. The rule change which takes effect with the first race of the 2018 season on February 9th and 10th at Bubba Raceway Park reads as follows: RULE VII A.  The Top Wing: can be no more than 25 square feet Maximum with a 2.5" maximum dip measured in front of wickerbill turnup (Maximum 1" Wicker Bill turnup at rear of top wing). Rules are the same for FLAT Surface Top Wings EXCEPT FLAT Surface Top Wings are allowed a 2" Wicker Bill starting with all races after January 1, 2018.Hydraulic sliders allowed. For safety, the Top Wing may not be mounted so as to extend outside of the left-rear tire. Side panels may be no more than 72" long by 30" tall. Mallett is USCS King of Mississippi at Whynot

Meridian, MS – July 8, 2017 - 2017 USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters National title contender Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR battled 2013 USCS National Champion, Derek Hagar for the entire 30-lap distance at Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday night before parking his #14 sprint car in the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane as the 2017 USCS King of Mississippi sprint car Champion/ Hagar dogged the K&N Pole Position starter from the outside front row starting position into turn one and battled Mallett all the way to the checkered flag while throwing every move in his book at the other Arkansan but had to settle for the runner-up spot. Brad Bowden from Hernando, MS  followed those three drivers in fourth place and current USCS National poits title contender, Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR rounded out the top five drivers..

Hagar wins again at Lexington 104

Lexington, TN – July 2, 2017 – Derek Hagar from Marion, AR charged from the K&N Filters Pole Position into the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane on Sunday night in front of capacity crowd at the high-banked 3/8 mile Lexington 104 Speedway. Hagar beat three-time World of Outlaws Champion, Sammy Swindell from Germantown, TN to the first turn and then held the veteran sprint car racing legend off for30 laps for the victory.  The 2012 USCS National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, AR followed Swindell in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place at the finish. Hernando, MS ace Brad Bowden finished fourth and Benton, Arkansas’ Cody Gardner brought the Roland #88R home in fifth place.

Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR and eleven-time USCS National Champ, Terry Gray from Bartlett, TN continued their season long battle for the 2017 National crown by following Gardner in sixth and seventh places respectively. Dale Howard from Byhalia, MS was eighth followed by Jeff Swindell who lives in Bartlett, Tn. The 2014 USCS rookie of the Year, Brandon McLain who hails from Indian Trail, North Carolina finished ten.

West Memphis, AR – July 1, 2017 – Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR raced from the third starting position into the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway to claim his second USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters win of the 2017 season The race was the make=up race for the rained-out June 3rd USCS Sprint Speedweek Finale.

 

Mallett had to hold off 2013 USCS National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, AR for the win. Crawley finished in the runner-up spot followed by 2015 track Champion, Andy McElhannon from Hernando, MS. Young gun Howard Moore from Memphis, TN finished fourth and veteran sprint car racer, Jeff Swindell from Bartlett, TN rounded out the top five’

Blue Ridge, Georgia - June 10, 2017 - The defending and two-time USCS National Champion, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee scored her second United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters win of the weekend and eighth of the 2017 season on Saturday night at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park in front of another standing room only crowd for the series. Turpen made a mid-race pass on early leader and heat race winner, Dale Howard from Byhalia, Mississippi after a hard-fought battle for the lead and then pulled away to approximately 10-car length lead on the final lap. Turpen also won on the series’ previous night’s stop at Fort Payne Motor Speedway.

Turpen held off current USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National points leader Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas for the win. Mallett made a mid-race pass for the lead that was negated by a caution situation for another racer’s loop on the same lap to bring out the yellow and re-align Turpen in the front of the pack. Turpen, the 2017 USCS wins leader, then held off a rim riding Jordon Mallett the rest of the way to win the 30-lap contest and park in the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane.

Defending USCS National Champion Morgan Turpen won her 7th USCS Feature race of the 2017 season

Defending USCS National Champion Morgan Turpen won her 7th USCS Feature race of the 2017 season at Fort Payne Motor Speedway Friday night. Jordon Mallett ran a close 2nd. 3rd was Terry Gray. 4th went to Dale Howard and Lee Moore rounded out the top 5.

 

2014 USCS Rookie of the Year, Brandon McLain led the next flight in 6th place followed by Joey Schmidt in 7th place. Joe Larkin collected 8th place money. USCS veterans Jeff Willingham 9th and Brian Thomas completed the top ten.

Morgan Turpen and Lee Moore were the heat race winners.

Brandon McLain won the USCS Hoosier Tire Speed Dash.

USCS Speedweek Finale at Riverisde has beenpostponed until THU, JUNE 22nd

The Saturday night USCS race at Riverside is cancelled due to the nearly one inch of rain they (track) received Friday afternoon after it was already wet there.

The track and USCS both agreed to wait and see until morning to see if it was possible, but, it's just too wet.

Very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused We tried, but, it has just been a rough end to the week...A rain date for thus event has been announced for Thursday, June 22nd..Final details for that will be announced by Monday afternoon..Pete Walton USCS.
