Lemmings collects career-first Rislone USCS Modified feature win at Camden Speedway

USCSOWMLemmings8.31.08.jpgAugust 31, 2008 - Camden, TN – Veteran West Tennessee racer, Junior Lemmings from Jackson, Tennessee won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series portion of the Camden Speedway “Sunday Speed Spectacular” on Sunday night. Lemmings led the final thirteen laps after passing Camden Speedway regular, Bronson Berry from Huntingdon, Tennessee on lap thirteen. It was the first series feature win for Lemmings who has ranked in the top ten in the point standings in all three seasons since the Rislone USCS Modified Series began in 2006.

Crawley drives to O'Reilly USCS ?Sunday Speed Spectacular? win at Camden Speedway

USCSCrawley8.31.08.jpgAugust 31, 2008 - Camden, TN – O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series Mid South Thunder point’s leader, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas bested a field of drivers from six states in the O’Reilly USCS portion of the 2nd Annual “Sunday Speed Spectacular” at Camden Speedway on Sunday night. Crawley started outside of the front row and beat K&N Filters Pole starter and defending O'Reilly USCS Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee to the first turn and held on for the win and a $2000 paycheck in the 30-lap winged sprint car main event. It was Crawley’s eighth O’Reilly USCS feature win of the 2008 season.

Gray led the final ten laps of the 30-lap main event in his #10 Rislone/CnB Mushroom Farms/Wesmar powered J & J Auto Racing car after chasing Anthony Nicholson for the first twenty circuits around the tacky 1/3 mile clay oval for the win.

Only young gun T.J. Winegardner’s win in the evening’s Lucas Oil Power Dash prevented a clean sweep for the cagey veteran in his familiar #10 Rislone, CnB Mushroom Farms, Wesmar powered J & J Auto Racing car.


Johnny Bridges captures O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder fair date at Greenville Pickens Speedway

USCSBridges8.28.08.jpgGreenville, SC – Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina won the O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series "Night of Thunder” 30 lap winged sprint car feature race at historic Greenville Pickens Speedway on Thursday night. It was Bridge's fourth O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder win of the season and fourth in the O’Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder mini-series.

Crawley, Skinner, Gray, Howard and Nicholson top O'Reilly USCS Mid South Thunder standings

USCS_Mid_South_Thunder_logo.jpgAtlanta, GA - August 11, 2008 - Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas continues to lead the current O'Reilly ( United Sprint Car Series Mid-South Thunder point standings with 2004 points after this past weekend's double-header at North Alabama Speedway on Friday and Clayhill Motorpsorts on Saturday.  Crawley won the Friday night event and finished in second place behind Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas on Saturday night.

Skinner tied Crawley's performance with a runner-up finish on Friday at NAS and his 15th O'Reilly USCS career feature race on Saturday night. He trails Crawley by 38 points in second place with 1966 points. Defending series Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee ranks third with 1956 points followed by veteran racer Ronny Howard from Southaven, Mississippi in fourth place with 1657 points. Rookie Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee rounds out the top five with 1610 points. 

Marshall Skinner visits O'Reilly USCS victory lane at Clayhill Motorsports

USCSSkinner8.9.08.jpgAugust 9, 2008 – Atwood, TN – Former O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series Champion, Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas passed series points leader, Tim Crawley on lap nine to gain the lead and then battled wheel-to-wheel with Crawley for the next eleven laps to grab the victory and $2000 first place pay check in the 30-lap O’Reilly USCS main event at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee on Saturday night.

Skinner finished with a half straightaway lead over runner-up Tim Crawley after starting fifth in the main event and masterfully racing around the bottom of the well groomed 1/3 mile red clay oval before the a capacity crowd. Crawley from Benton, Arkansas who started in the fourth position led the first eight laps of the race and again regained the lead on lap twelve only to have Skinner get back around in lapped traffic. 


Simmons battles to Rislone USCS Modified win at North Alabama Speedway

USCSOWMSimmons8.8.08.jpgAugust 8, 2008 - Tuscumbia, AL - Tony Simmons from Rogersville, Alabama won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series feature race at North Alabama Speedway on Friday night before a capacity crowd. Simmons got the hard fought win in the race after battling Chad Winkles from Falkville, Alabama wheel to wheel on nearly every lap for the lead. The two drivers who have lots of laps on the 1/3 mile red clay oval bested a field of top drivers from the Mid South area during the thriller on the series first ever visit to North Alabama Speedway. Series points-leader Ashley Newman finished on the rear bumper of the lead duo in third place after starting fifth. Trinity Wyers from Columbus, Mississippi finished fourth after starting from the K&N filters Pole Position and Hunter Rasdon from Jonesboro, Arkansas rounded out the top five finishers .

Crawley ran his win streak in the tough regional series to two-in-a-row by besting a talented field of drivers from six states. Crawley won the previous O’Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder event during the O’Reilly USCS “Triple Crown Challenge” presented by Lucas Oil on Thursday, July 10th at Riverside International Speedway.


Gray races to O'Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder win and new track record at Volunteer Speedway

Gray who had never raced at Joe Loven’s famed high-banked 4/10 mile East Tennessee red clay oval dominated the evening in his #10 Rislone/Bar’s Leaks sponsored Wesmar powered J&J Auto Racing car. He started the night off by setting a new Volunteer Speedway all-time track record and fast time of 11.67 seconds around the high-banked 4/10 mile oval. The torrid lap eclipsed by two one hundredths of a second the 16 month-old mark of 11.690 seconds set by Joey Saldana during the World of Outlaws 410 cubic inch race on March 24, 2007.

Lines captures second O'Reilly USCS win at Crossville Raceway

USCSLines7.18.80.jpgJuly 18, 2008 - Crossville, TN - Steven Lines from Melbourne, Australia won the second of the twin 20-lap features during the fourth annual O'Reilly USCS "Night of Thunder" winged sprint car event on Friday night at Crossville Raceway. Lines started fifth in the inverted field and raced past Lance Moss from Cherryville, North Carolina into the lead on lap six to make his second O'Reilly USCS victory lane visit of the 2008 season. Lines finished approximately six to eight car lenghts ahead of Moss for the win. The evening's first featue race winner, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee followed in third place after starting seventh. Three-time 2008 series feature winner, Johnny Bridges fom Cherryville, North Carolina finished fourth and Ronnie Blair from Dayton, Ohio who was the runner-up in the first main event rounded out the top five.

USCSOWMRasdon7.10.08.jpgJuly 10, 2008 - West Memphis, AR - Hunter Rasdon from Jonesboro, Arkansas won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series Speedweek Round Four at Riverside International Speedway on Thursday night. Rasdon's first career win in the series came over a talented field of drivers from four states. The twenty year-old driver started on the front row and led every lap to hold off hard-charging Duke Palasini from Greenville, Mississippi who won last Saturday's Round Three event at Greenville Speedway. Chris Moore from Nesbit, Mississippi who started 17th finished in third place in the main event, followed by current series points leader, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee in fourth and Brandon Poppenheimer from Memphis, Tennessee rounded out the top five.

Crawley gets two out of three in USCS Triple Crown Challenge at Riverside

USCSCrawley7.10.08.jpgJuly 10, 2008 - West Memphis, AR- O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series Mid-South Thunder point’s leader, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas got two-thirds of the way to the $10,000 top prize in the Lucas Oil Triple Crown Challenge event at Riverside Speedway on Thursday night. Crawley won the Riverside Stock Cars first heat race and dominated the 15-lap feature race in that event. After winning the Lucas Oil Power Dash for the O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series sprint cars Crawley finished fifth in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat race. This made the task of winning three features in three classes much more daunting.
