Winegardner from Pierson, Florida  scored a win in the  O’Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder presented by Lucas Oil victory 30-lap “Shootout at Sugar Creek” sprint car race on Friday night at Sugar Creek Raceway in scenic Blue Ridge, Georgia. Winegardner bested a field of top drivers from seven states including several past series Champions for his career first USCS win.


USCSGrayvlaneHarris.jpgHarris, NC - Six-time O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee scored a photo-finish win in the 20-lap O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series presented by Lucas Oil main event on Friday night at Harris Speedway. Gray beat CnB Mushroom Farms fast qualifer Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North, Carolina to the finish-line by about 18 inches in the $1200 to win preliminary feature race of the "Thunder in Carolina" Round One. The series returns to Harris Speedway on Saturday night for the 30-lap $2000 to win Finale.

Bridges who won last weekend's O'Reilly USCS Aphalt Thunder paved track event at Dillon, South Carolina, set fast time and a new all-time track record of 13.27 seconds around the historic Harris, North Carolina 4/10 mile clay oval. Gray won the Lucas Oil Power Dash earlier in the evening. Brian Smith from Mooresville, North Carolina won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat Race and T.J. Winegardner from Pierson, Florida collected the victory in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat Race. Josh Weller from Mertztown, Pennsylvania garnered the evening's Huggins Cams Hardcharger Award.



USCSBridgeshead.jpgUSCSBridgesDillon.jpgDillon, SC - April 19, 2008 – 2004 O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series/ AOAS Champion, Johnny Bridges from  Cherryville, North Carolina won the 35-Lap O’Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour main event at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, South Carolina on Saturday nBridges started the evening by setting the fastest time trial qualifying lap around high-banked 4/10ths mile paved oval. After winnning the Butlerbuilt Second Heat Race, The win was his third career O’Reilly USCS feature win.

Bridges drew a zero inversion in the K&N Filters pole Award drawing place himself and second quick qualifier, Wayne Reutimann, Jr. from Zephyrhills, Florida on the front row for the start of the main event. When the green flag flew for the initial start of the 35-lap feature, Wayne Reutimann, Jr.  got the jump on Bridges into the lead entering turn one only to see the caution flag waved for Wendy Mathis’contact incident in the turn three outside wall. Mathis was checked out and deemed to be okay, but, her car was in much worse condition and could not continue.
Doug Harrington scores career first Rislone USCS Modified Series win at Checkered Flag Speedway
USCSOWMHarrington4.12.08.jpgHohenwald, TN – April 12, 2008 -  Doug Harrington from Centerville, Tennessee started on the outside front row and raced into the lead on lap one then held on for the win in the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series at Checkered Flag Speedway on Saturday night. Harrington pulled away on each re-start after several caution flags bunched the field of challengers behind him.

It was Crawley’s second O’Reilly USCS win of the young season.

Ben Reed captures first Rislone USCS Modified win at Greenville Speedway with Friday clean-sweep
Greenville, MS - March 21, 2008 - 2006 Rislone USCS Modified Series Co-Champion, Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series main event at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Friday night. The twenty-four year-old Reed led every lap of the race after starting on the outside of the front row next to K&N Filters Pole Award recipient Jonathan Russell from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Reed completed a clean-sweep of the evening’s events by winning the Rislone Power Dash six cars, six-lap Shootout earlier in the evening and then he won the Bars Leaks Third Heat Race before racing home to his first Rislone USCS Modified Series feature win.

Cordele, GA - March 15, 2008 – 2005 O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series Asphalt Thunder Tour Champion, Wayne Reutimann, Jr. from  Zephyrhills, Florida won the 35-Lap O’Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour season-opener at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia on Saturday night.  The win was his sixth career O’Reilly USCS feature win.

Atwood Outlaw Herndon captures Rislone USCS season-opener at Checkered Flag

Herndon from Atwood, Tennessee started seventh and then raced through a field of top open wheel modified drivers from four states field into victory lane in the 30-lap 2008 season-opener for the Rislone USCS Modified Series “Modified Thunder” Tour at Checkered Flag Speedway in Hohenwald, Tennessee on Saturday evening. Herndon collected $1200.00 for his efforts.

Herndon followed early leader Steven Holcomb from Sante Fe, Tennessee and 2007 series runner-up, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee for the first twelve laps. Holcomb appeared to have things under control and to be racing to his first Rislone USCS Modified Series win before coasting to the infield with a broken rear-end. On lap thirteen. At that point Newman took the point and lead until lap seventeen when a caution flag flew for a spinning car. This placed Herndon directly on his tail.

O'Reilly USCS honors Champions Gray and Robb and Challengers at 2007 Banquet
Memphis, TN – January 12, 2008 - Over $75,000 in cash and contingencies were awarded as the O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series ( ) honored drivers from seven states during its recent 11th Anniversary O'Reilly USCS Champions Awards Banquet held at the Hilton Memphis Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. A gathering of nearly 150 people honored seventeen sprint car drivers including Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who captured his sixth O'Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National Championship.  Fifteen year-old Trey Robb from Newcastle, Oklahoma was honored for winning his first O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder series title.  Along with Gray and Robb, the top ten drivers from each of four O'Reilly USCS racing divisions were recognized.

Stephens honored as 2007 Rislone USCS Modified Champion
Atlanta, Ga – January 12, 2008 -  150 attendees joined the United Speed Contest Sanction to honor Shane Stephens from Arlington, Tennessee as the 2007 Rislone USCS Modified Series Champion during the recent Champions Awards Banquet held at the Hilton Memphis Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Stephens used steady top five finishes and a feature win at Malden Speedway on April 20th to total 1282 points to garner the crown in the competitive second year series. Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee finished just 58 points back with 1224 points in the runner-up spot. Newman’s hard-charging style helped him keep the race close. He also had a series of top five runs plus a win on November 3rd in the Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway.

USCSSkinner11.10.07.jpgColumbus, Mississippi - November 10, 2007 - Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas drove his own #26 Conrad Sand & Gravel / A&B Equipment /AMC Plumbing sponsored Dyno-Tech powered / J & J Auto Racing sprint car into victory lane in the 25-lap O’Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series season finale during the Lucas Oil Showdown at Columbus Speedway on Saturday night. It was Skinner’s third win in the series on the season and it came over a talent-laden 26 cars from eleven states. Skinner started ninth in the field in the sure to be exciting main event that inverted the finish of the first of twin 25-lap Lucas Oil Showdown features.
