Crawley grabs O?Reilly USCS Speedweek Round Two at Greenville Speedway |
SPEEDWEEK ROUND #2: Greenville , MS – May 25, 2008 – Wow! Is about all you could say after the 30-lap O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series Speedweek Round Two presented by Lucas Oil at Greenville Speedway on Sunday night. The O’Reilly USCS Mid South Thunder point’s leader, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas, and six-time O’Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee battled wheel-to wheel for 25-laps around Greenville Speedway’s ¼ mile Gumbo clay surface on Sunday night. The duo swapped the lead four times but racing was even more tenacious than that before Crawley passed Gray entering turn three to grab the lead for the final time on lap sixteen of the 30-lap battle royale.

Lee Sowell claims O'Reilly USCS Speedweek 2008 Opener at Riverside |
SPEEDWEEK ROUND #1: West Memphis, Arkansas – May 24, 2008 - Lee Sowell from Nesbit, Mississippi won the 3rd Annual Rumble at the River 35-lap O'Reilly USCS Speedweek 2008 opener on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. It was the young driver’s second career O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series feature win. The hard fought victory came over a tough field of highly ranked drivers from seven states in the first of seven rounds of competition in the 3rd Annual O’Reilly USCS Speedweek.

Harris, NC – Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina led all thirty laps of the O’Reilly USCS presented by Lucas Oil “Thunder in Carolina” Finale at Harris Speedway in Harris, North Carolina on Saturday night. It was Bridges second O’Reilly USCS Southern Thunder Tour sprint car feature win of the young season before the largest Harris Speedway crowd of the season.

Robby Arnold wins Rislone USCS Modified?s Bootheel Battle on Friday at Malden Speedway |
Malden, MO – May 9, 2008 – Robby Arnold from Paragould, Arkansas started on the outside second row and raced past Robert Powers from Campbell, Missouri into the lead on lap nine then held off the hard charging former track Champion for the win in the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series event at Malden Speedway on Friday night. On the final lap Powers and 2007 Rislone USCS Champion, Shane Stephens from Arlington, Tennessee challenged for the win, but Arnold grabbed his second career Rislone USCS Modified win in Round One of the two-day Bootheel 200.

Blue Ridge, Georgia – May 2, 2008 - Twenty-four year-old, T.J. Winegardner from Pierson, Florida scored a win in the O’Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder presented by Lucas Oil victory 30-lap “Shootout at Sugar Creek” sprint car race on Friday night at Sugar Creek Raceway in scenic Blue Ridge, Georgia. Winegardner bested a field of top drivers from seven states including several past series Champions for his career first USCS win.

GRAY SCORES LAST LAP SOUTHERN THUNDER WIN AT HARRIS SPEEDWAY |
Harris, NC - Six-time O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee scored a photo-finish win in the 20-lap O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series presented by Lucas Oil main event on Friday night at Harris Speedway. Gray beat CnB Mushroom Farms fast qualifer Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North, Carolina to the finish-line by about 18 inches in the $1200 to win preliminary feature race of the "Thunder in Carolina" Round One. The series returns to Harris Speedway on Saturday night for the 30-lap $2000 to win Finale.
Bridges who won last weekend's O'Reilly USCS Aphalt Thunder paved track event at Dillon, South Carolina, set fast time and a new all-time track record of 13.27 seconds around the historic Harris, North Carolina 4/10 mile clay oval. Gray won the Lucas Oil Power Dash earlier in the evening. Brian Smith from Mooresville, North Carolina won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat Race and T.J. Winegardner from Pierson, Florida collected the victory in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat Race. Josh Weller from Mertztown, Pennsylvania garnered the evening's Huggins Cams Hardcharger Award.

BRIDGES SCORES BIG ASPHALT THUNDER WIN AT DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY |
 Dillon, SC - April 19, 2008 – 2004 O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series/ AOAS Champion, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina won the 35-Lap O’Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour main event at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, South Carolina on Saturday nBridges started the evening by setting the fastest time trial qualifying lap around high-banked 4/10ths mile paved oval. After winnning the Butlerbuilt Second Heat Race, The win was his third career O’Reilly USCS feature win.
Bridges drew a zero inversion in the K&N Filters pole Award drawing place himself and second quick qualifier, Wayne Reutimann, Jr. from Zephyrhills, Florida on the front row for the start of the main event. When the green flag flew for the initial start of the 35-lap feature, Wayne Reutimann, Jr. got the jump on Bridges into the lead entering turn one only to see the caution flag waved for Wendy Mathis’contact incident in the turn three outside wall. Mathis was checked out and deemed to be okay, but, her car was in much worse condition and could not continue.

Hohenwald, TN – April 12, 2008 - Doug Harrington from Centerville, Tennessee started on the outside front row and raced into the lead on lap one then held on for the win in the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series at Checkered Flag Speedway on Saturday night. Harrington pulled away on each re-start after several caution flags bunched the field of challengers behind him.

Ben Reed captures first Rislone USCS Modified win at Greenville Speedway with Friday clean-sweep |
Greenville, MS - March 21, 2008 - 2006 Rislone USCS Modified Series Co-Champion, Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series main event at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Friday night. The twenty-four year-old Reed led every lap of the race after starting on the outside of the front row next to K&N Filters Pole Award recipient Jonathan Russell from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Reed completed a clean-sweep of the evening’s events by winning the Rislone www.rislone.com Power Dash six cars, six-lap Shootout earlier in the evening and then he won the Bars Leaks Third Heat Race before racing home to his first Rislone USCS Modified Series feature win.
