Mallet Captures Riverside Speedweek Round 6

West Memphis, AR – July 1, 2017 – Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, AR raced from the third starting position into the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway to claim his second USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters win of the 2017 season The race was the make=up race for the rained-out June 3rd USCS Sprint Speedweek Finale.

 

Mallett had to hold off 2013 USCS National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, AR for the win. Crawley finished in the runner-up spot followed by 2015 track Champion, Andy McElhannon from Hernando, MS. Young gun Howard Moore from Memphis, TN finished fourth and veteran sprint car racer, Jeff Swindell from Bartlett, TN rounded out the top five’

 

 

 

Defending USCS National Champion, morgan Turpen from Cordova, TN led the next group in sixth place. Past track Champ, Cody Gardner from Benton, AR followed in seventh and Turpen’s team-mate, Terry Gray from Bartlett, TN was eighth. 2014 USCS National Champion, Derek Hagar followed Gray in ninth place and Zach Pringle from Benton, AR as well completed the top ten of twenty-six drivers entered.

 

 

Dale Howard from Byhalia, MS kicked off the action by winning the 6-lap USCS Hoosier Speed Dash. Three-time World of Outlaws sprint car Champion won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Andy McElhannon claimed the checkers in the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat and Jeff Swindell claimed the win in the Schoenfeld Headers Third Heat. Morgan Turpen started1th and passed 8 cars to finish sixth and garner the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger award.
