JORDON "The Jet" MALLETT GARNERS THE POLE FOR THE USCS FLIP FLOP 50 AT RIVERSIDE

WEST MEMPHIS, AR – October 11, 2024 - Two-time USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National Champion, Jordon "The Jet" Mallett of Greenbrier, AR earned the pole position on Friday night for Saturday night’s 16th Annual Bobby Martin Memorial Flip Flop 50 Sprint Car Shootout at Riverside International Speedway that pays a possible $10,000-to-win.

Mallett won the 12-lap Pole Scramble made up of the top ten drivers from Heat Race passing points.
Derek Hagar of Marion, AR finished second and Dale Howard of Byhalia, MS took the third spot. Ernie Ainsworth of Bartlett, TN was fourth and fifth went to Zach Pringle of Benton, AR.

The 15-time USCS National Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN finished sixth. Brandon Hanks of Burlison, TN drove to a seventh-place finish in the Pole Scramble and Ayden Gatewood of Caruthersville, MO was eighth. Howard Moore of Memphis, TN, took the ninth spot, and Brad Bowden of Hernando, MS rounded out the finish for ten car field.

In other preliminary races for the Flip Flop 50, all 35 entrants took part in one of five eight-lap Heat Races. Hagar won the Engler Machine & Tool First Heat, and Hanks won the Butlerbuilt Racing Products Second Heat.

The Racing Electronics Third Heat was won by Mallett after the apparent winner, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee Sammy Swindell of Germantown, TN missed the scales after the race and was disqualified. Dale Howard won the Huggins Cams Fourth Heat and Cody Gardner of Benton, AR won the Schoenfeld Cams Fifth Heat.

On Saturday night, the USCS Sprint Cars return to Riverside International Speedway and will have two 12-lap B-Main Races to fill in the back half of the first Feature Race of the Flip Flop 50, the 25-Lap Flip Race. The way they finish the Flip Race will be completely inverted for the second Feature Race, the 25-lap Flop Race. If a driver can win both races, he could pocket $10,000 including lap money.
