Senoia, GA - Wild and exciting winged Outlaw sprint car racing returns to Senoia Raceway to headline the racing program this Friday and Saturday nights (May 18th and 19th) when the O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series "Asphalt Thunder" Tour will roar into the fast and famed 3/8 mile paved oval for its fourth asphalt event of the season. This will be event number eight on the season for the O'Reilly USCS National touring drivers who also race on dirt ovals.

The O'Reilly USCS is the only winged Outlaw sprint series in the World that contests its National Champion on both dirt and paved surfaces. The event is expected to bring top winged Outlaw sprint car drivers from at least six states to the Speedway. Their exotic fire breathing, alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars weight just 1,300 pounds, and will literally fly around the track surface at speeds in excess of 130 miles per hour. It is not uncommon to see the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars popping "wheelies" because of the brute force of their engines and their huge 18-inch wide rear tires.

These exotic open-wheeled race cars that are pound for pound the fastest short track cars in the World and they are expected to reach speeds in excess of 130 miles per hour at the high-banked 3/8-mile speed plant. They are also expected to produce qualifying times near or under the all-time track record of 11.52 seconds when they take to the speedway for the CnB Mushroom Farms time trials at approximately 8:00 pm on Friday night

The fans will see plenty of the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars in action on the track surface over the two evenings of competition as the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder two-day race format includes two-lap time trial qualifying for each entry plus a pair of qualifying races on Friday night. Friday night's racing action also includes a full program of racing in the Senoia Raceway Bandolero, Mini Stock and Street Stock classes including heat races and feature races. Action picks up on Saturday night when the format will include a pair Lucas Oil Products sponsored Lucas Oil Power Dashes for at least eight of the top qualifying sprint cars, followed by the B-Main/last chance race for O'Reilly USCS drivers and a 40-lap Grand Finale A-main event. On Saturday night in addition to the O'Reilly USCS "Senoia Outlaw Shootout" finals the racing card includes a complete racing card for Senoia Raceway's popular Iceman (Limited Late Models), Sportsman, Street Stock, Mini-Stock and Bandolero divisions.

Heavy hitter O'Reilly USCS entries include a number of the nation's top ranked winged sprint car drivers including two of the currently hottest, Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tennessee and Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida. The twenty year-old Martin finished in the runner-up slot in the National standings the last three seasons and was the series top feature winner in 2006 with eight victories. The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame pollsters ranked both drivers in the top ten in the north America in 2006. Gray was third in the rankings and Martin finished ninth among over 3000 drivers considerd.

Martin will be joined by several other talented Hoosier Tire Young Guns (drivers under 25 years-old) including two-time Asphalt Thunder Tour feature winner, eighteen year-old Matt Tiffany from Daytona Beach, Florida. It was only the second paved track race for the slightly built young Robb in a sprint car. He is currently ranked third in the O'Reilly USCS point standings. At age 13, in 2005 Robb broke a 51-year-old record at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by being the youngest driver to ever win an A-Feature in a sprint car. He was named 2005 Rookie of the Year at State Fair Speedway for the 360 Sprint Car Class and finished 5th overall in points.
