About Daniel

At the young age of 6, Daniel began his successful racing career in Quarter Midgets at Little T Speedway in Thompson, CT. From then up until now, Daniel hasn’t looked back and has grown an even deeper passion for the sport. After six years of Quarter Midgets, Daniel had racked up States Race wins, championships, multiple feature wins, and “The Lou Sherman Award.” Each year, the “Lou Sherman Award” is awarded to one of the retiring Quarter Midget drivers. This award represented a driver who showed outstanding sportsmanship, kindness, and willing to help others around the track.

From Quarter Midgets, Daniel tackled Bandolero Cars and Legend Cars in these next few years. In 2012, his first year in Legend Cars, he was named Rookie of the Year at Waterford Speedbowl and finished Top 5 in weekly points against stiff competition. While amid racing the Legend car, in 2013 Daniel hopped into an Asphalt Super Late Model for Hartwell Motorsports for a few races.

Another major accomplishment for Daniel in 2013 was his acceptance to Race 101 Driving School. Race 101 is a prestigious driver development school where he learned public relations, marketing, and chassis dynamics. He was one of only 6 young adults that were accepted to this school out of over 400+ applicants throughout the US and Canada. In February of 2014 Daniel tested a Late Model at Hickory Motor Speedway with Race 101 and graduated from this prestigious school in the same month.

In 2014 Daniel attended The Dirt Track Racing School where he tested a Dirt Late Model and gained experience racing on dirt for 2015. At the end of 2015 Stolte and his family finished building their Late Model and began practicing at different tracks in North and South Carolina. In 2016 Daniel raced over 15 times at Cherokee Speedway and the Dirt Track at Charlotte, gaining his first top 10’s in dirt racing.

Currently he is a sophomore in the Motorsports Engineering Program at UNC Charlotte pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2018 there were a total of 6 races due to lack of funding. In each race Daniel and the team improved and was able to keep making gains. In 2019 Daniel plans to race in the SECA Series and Blue Ridge Outlaws across the Carolinas.
